Lead Co-Pastors: Ryan & Serina Nelson

Reverends Ryan and Serina Nelson were called to serve the Lord at Church Street Church of the Nazarene in December 2018.  They moved to Carlsbad January 1, 2019. 


The Nelsons love sports, especially baseball, softball, and college football (Boomer Sooner!).  Ryan & Serina met in high school and were married in August of 2011.  Prior to moving to Carlsbad, Ryan & Serina were both co-vocational pastors. Ryan was an educator for Amarillo Independent School District. Serina was a Crime Scene Investigator for the Amarillo Police Department. Serina is continuing her career as a CSI for the Carlsbad Police Department. They reside in Carlsbad with their precious daughter, Marley, and their fur babies, Ruger, Holly, and Hondo.

Associate Pastor: Phil Boeglin

Pastor Phil has served as the Associate Pastor at Church St. Church of the Nazarene for several years now. Pastor Phil enjoys long drives away from the pavement and hiking.  Along with his pastoral duties, he helps out with his family's ranching business. Pastor Phil loves outreach ministry. His heart is to reach whomever God sends his way. 

Associate Pastor: Nicole Young

Nicole is currently serving as the Associate Pastor at Church Street Church of the Nazarene. She has also served as the NM District NMI President since 2019. Her favorite role is being wife to Jerry and mom to Charise, Adah, and Evan. She spends her days homeschooling her 3 children, drinking lots of coffee, serving in a wide array of ministry opportunities, and in her free time is a Graduate student at Trevecca Nazarene University. She is passionate about seeing lives redeemed, studying the Word of God, and authenticity in relationships. Some of her favorite hobbies are hiking, reading, and traveling to new places with her family. 

Children's Pastor: Tabitha Fisher

Pastor Tabitha grew up in Southern Colorado and felt a call to ministry around the age of 9. She studied Children's Ministry at Northwest Nazarene University. Before coming to Carlsbad she ministered to children through her church's daycare as a school age program director. While in Michigan she married her husband John and they were blessed with two daughters, RoseMary and Nora. Tabitha was ordained in 2022. She loves to walk with children in their faith and help them learn about the love of God and how to live out their faith. For fun she loves to do art, go exploring, and drink coffee.
